Er:Glass – CR14: Cr14 is Erbium Glass doped with Er 3+, Yb 3+ and Cr 3+ and suited to applications involving xenon lamp pumping. This glass is often used in laser range finder (LRF) applications. Long Pulsed Medical Fractional Er glass laser energy can penetrate the skin deeply for treatment of deeper vascular lesions such as telangiectasias, hemangiomas and leg veins. Talking about Er glass crystal, the reflectivity changes because of a phase transition from a semiconductor to a metallic state. Broad band operating characteristics of Er glass mirrors provide Q switching over a wide range of wavelengths. Diode-pumped lasers using Yb–Er phosphate glass with 3×1019 and 5.6×1019 cm−3 of Er concentrations are investigated. Maximum “light-to-light” efficiency obtained is 2.5%, while the maximum slope efficiency is as high as 7.1%. At free-running mode maximum slope efficiency obtained is 31%.The Czochralski technique has great advantages for growth of the high quality and large size Er:Glass and er glass laser rod for usage as medium – in high power efficient lasers. The obtained er glass crystal and Dental Composite Dentsply single crystals were without core and of good optical quality. Er or ytterbium-doped glass lasers in the 1-μm region in conjunction with frequency doublers are often the basis of green lasers, particularly when higher powers are required than with directly green-emitting lasers.
