Nd: GGG
Nd3+:GGG (Nd:Gd3Ga5O12) has excellent thermal conductivity and mechanical properties. Compared with other Nd3+ doped crystals, such as Nd: YVO4, Nd: GdVO4, Nd: YGdVO4 and Nd: YAG, Nd: GGG crystals do not have an optically inhomogeneous area called “nucleus”. Consequently, it can support a higher Nd3+ doping atom number fraction. Therefore, it is considered to be the best working crystal for solid-state heat capacity lasers.
Nd: GGG crystal is the first choice for high power laser working materials of LD pump
Nd: GGG can be used as LD pump crystal. Nd: GGG has a large stimulated emission cross section and a high laser efficiency as well as low threshold. In addition, this material has the advantages of high specific heat and high thermal conductivity, and similarly the long emission time. Therefore, it is the first choice for high-power laser working materials of LD pump.
